General Terms and Conditions

1./Platán Hotel***, owned and operated by the Service Provider: LEVELES KFT. 10 Somlyai str. 4030 Debrecen. (operating license: 25800/2010), operates as a 3-star HotelStars EU-certified hotel and provides its guests with accommodation, catering and other services.

2./ These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter T&C) regulate the relationship between the Service Provider and the partner/s ordering or using the services (hereinafter Guest/s).

3./ The Guest uses the services provided by the Service Provider, namely with prior knowledge of them.

Orders can be placed directly by the Guest, so that the Service Provider and the Guest become contractual parties, or by a third party (reservation system, travel agent, conference organizer, etc.), in which case the Guest will be a contractual party in relation to the services directly ordered by him, and is fully covered by the accommodation policy.

Orders and modifications (including cancellations) can only be made in writing, which the Service Provider also confirms in writing. The service provider is only bound by what is included in his confirmation.

4./ The Service Provider’s range of services:

Accommodation service in single, double, superior type rooms and suites, all of which are suitable for extra beds. These room types have the equipment and facilities required by the above-mentioned rating system, as well as the related mandatory and optional services, such as cleaning, changing textiles, finishing touches, etc.

Minibar service: the products displayed in the refrigerator located in the hotel lobby can be purchased at the reception according to the posted price list.

Hospitality services: restaurant, cafe, seasonal terrace during the posted opening hours, according to the menu and drink list for presenting the selection.

Special room for smaller business, family and other events, with equipment and technical equipment as required.

Own, unguarded car parking lot, for hotel and restaurant guests for temporary use, subject to the relevant traffic rules.

According to the relevant legislation, serving of alcoholic beverages to those under 18 years is not permitted!

5./ Price of services:

The hotel prices are posted on the website, at the reception and in the rooms as well in Hungarian Forint, as specified in the relevant legislation.

The prices of various packages and individual events are announced on the hotel’s website.

The local tourist tax is charged based on the local tax ordinance determined by the Debrecen County Municipality, which is listed on a separate line in the hotel price list.

In the catering and other service departments, the prices of products and services are displayed on separate information devices (menu, price board, etc.).

The Service Provider may change the prices freely without prior notification, with the exception of the prices of already confirmed orders, which the Service Provider can only do with the prior approval of the customer.

 

6./ Payment terms:

The confirmation of the orders includes the payment terms, otherwise the Guest will settle the value of the services used on the spot.

Payment methods: cash, credit or debit card, SZÉP card, bank transfer and voucher.

If the ordered services are not paid for by the Guest, a written commitment statement from the Customer is required to settle the invoice, failing which the Guest is responsible for the settlement of the services ordered and used.

Gift vouchers can only be accepted for the indicated services and for the period of validity that can be used during the specified period, they cannot be exchanged for cash or other services.

7./ Using the services

The Guest may use the services reserved for him under the conditions confirmed by the Service Provider, in the case of accommodation services, in addition to accepting the provisions of the relevant legislation. According to this, it is mandatory for all guests to check in at the reception by providing the necessary data and verifying their authenticity. By checking in, the guest agrees to abide by the Service Provider’s General Terms and Conditions and the hotel’s policy.

The room can be booked from 14:00 on the day of arrival and is available until 11:00 on the day of departure, unless the parties agree otherwise.

If the guest does not check out by the specified time on the day of departure and has not requested an extension of the check-out time in advance, the hotel can automatically extend the use of the room by one more day and charge the guest’s bill for this.

The guest receives detailed information about the hotel’s basic and other services in the A to Z information brochure placed in the room and at the reception.

 

 

In the case of catering and other services in the department, the guest assumes full and financial responsibility for the settlement of the services used based on the order.

The service provider is entitled to request an advance payment, or credit card guarantee/pre-authorization.

The Service Provider may refuse to provide the service in the event that the Guest makes a request that violates the law, or if the Guest’s behavior endangers the health and safety of other Guests/Employees, or the integrity of the Service Provider’s assets, or their intended use.

Guests note that smoking is PROHIBITED throughout the hotel, including hotel rooms. All the rooms in the hotel are equipped with automatic smoke and fire alarms.

If the Guest nevertheless smokes in the room and the alarm system is activated, the financial consequences will be borne by him.

8./Order and service cancellation, No Show, force majeure:

The customer can cancel the pre-ordered services under the conditions specified in the confirmation. Hotel room orders can be canceled without penalty up to 24 hours prior to arrival date, except for guaranteed reservations and reservations according to a separate agreement.

In case of cancellation within 24 hours, the customer is obliged to pay a penalty of 1 day/room fee to the Service Provider.

If the Guest does not occupy the ordered room/rooms (does not check in) and the order has not been modified or cancelled in advance, according to international legal practice, such a case is considered a “No Show”, which has the consequence that the customer is obliged to pay the Service Provider a fine for 1 night for the ordered room/rooms, and the Service Provider is not obliged to reserve any rooms ordered for additional days.

 

Force majeure: an event that occurs due to reasons beyond the parties’ control, or that they had no influence on. These include, for example, an accident, a change in natural conditions (snow barrier, disaster, flood, etc.), fire, as well as the outage of utility and energy services, a strike, and the like.

The occurrence of these releases the parties from their contractual obligations, and they also undertake to do everything possible to mitigate the damage/damages that have occurred.

9./The hotel allows small pets into the hotel area (hall, corridors, hotel rooms) upon prior notification, on the condition that the Guest is responsible and obliged to ensure the animal’s health condition and to pay any additional cleaning costs that may arise.

You cannot leave your pet unattended and you must ensure that it does not endanger the health of other guests and staff.

Pets cannot be brought into the catering department for hygiene reasons.

10./ Confidentiality:

During the performance of the services, the Service Provider is obliged to handle the data of the contracting parties and the guest(s) in full compliance with the relevant legislation.

It is not allowed to release information about any part of the contract without the consent of the parties, except for the provision of information based on a written request from the national authorities.

11./ Complaint handling, compensation obligation:

The Clerk of the County City of Debrecen and the Debrecen Regional Government Office exercise professional supervision over the service provider’s activities.

The provisions of the Civil Code are authoritative regarding the responsibility of the Service Provider and the customer and the Guest in this regard.

Pursuant to this, the Service Provider is obliged to compensate the guest for damage caused by the Service Provider’s fault.

The Guest is obliged to pay the damage caused to the Service Provider in full.

When each such case occurs, a report must be taken, in which the factual description of the case is recorded.

After that, the parties will try to settle the disputed case together, if this does not lead to a result, they will indicate the jurisdiction of the District Court of Debrecen.
